Hi there,
I love this time of the year. The leaves are changing their color from green to deep reds and golds, the air has a crisp bite to it. It takes me back in my memory to where I grew up, Manchester CT. We had an enormous backyard with a lot of trees. So you guessed it my brother and I, little sister was just too small, had to do all the raking. The great thing though was we got to jump in those big piles of leaves and get lost!
At times like these, where everyone is starting to get, or maybe you already are, anxious over what it taking place in our country and the global arena it's kinda nice to let those fond memories come forward. Back when I was growing up we were still allowed to burn off the leaf piles, who knew we were contributing to global warming, agh... Still the smell of burning leaves or wood smoke always teases those happy memories out for me. I think this time I'll let them linger a little longer before I return to reality, such as it is.
I like to use this time of year to look back on what I have done. What I haven't done and then see where I can improve. Maybe some of those things that seemed so important just don't feel that way any more. I'm okay with that.
So take some time to let your mind wander, think back on a favorite childhood memory and enjoy. Let it stay around for a bit, after all the sun will still come up tomorrow, so enjoy the evening!
